Been A Long Time

My apologies to everyone for basically disappearing off the face of the Earth for the last 5 years and leaving all the AWVR content in a broken state. On that note, I should mention that prior to my absence, I had handed ownership of my AWVR content over to Chris (n8phu) to repair and upload as he wishes.

I'm trying to get back up to speed on what's been happening in the community while I was out. I'm also trying to get back into the groove of reinstalling, updating and playing Trainz. I did purchase Trainz: A New Era not long after it came out, but it proved to be a headache with its initial bugs, so I just shelved it. I recently fired it back up and have fixed most of the issues. I'm trying to get back into the groove, though whether or not I'll go back to making content is still to be seen.

If I do go back to making content, it will be for TANE and (maybe) Trainz 12. No promises, though.

For the time being, I have removed the download links to my AWVR content since they are broken anyways and, again, n8phu now has ownership of them. I don't believe he's uploaded them elsewhere, however. I'll reach out to him to see if he would like my assistance.

I'll be lurking around.

Ciao

Long Time No See

As some may have noticed, I have been away from Trainz for quite a while. This was due to personal reasons that were a bit complicated. Things are starting to settle down and I'm trying to bring myself back up to speed on what's been happening in the Trainz community (a number of things seemed to have changed).

I am well aware that some of my AWVR locomotives are now out-of-date/broken. I will be fixing them in the near future...hopefully. Unfortunately, some of these fixes will not go well with older versions of Trainz. To keep things fairly simple, I will no longer support versions of Trainz older than 2.9 (2009).

Some users have asked me about the status of AWVR Part II and why I have not considered uploading Part I to the DLS. As I said before, I've been away from Trainz for quite a while. However, regarding Part I; when I started the project, I got permission from Frank (SPorBust) to use his models so long as I did not upload them to the DLS. As far as I know, Chris (n8phu) is the only one allowed to update and upload Frank's models to the DLS. I understand that adding the files to the DLS will make it easier for users to access them, so I will be asking Frank if I can upload them to the DLS (it's up to him). As for Part II, I was asked by the folks at RRMods to hold off on uploading the files as they are currently trying to update the models to their new standards (the models I used are pretty old).

As it stands, AWVR Part II and all of my projects are on hold indefinitely. I hope to get back into the swing of things and finish some of these projects in the months to come. No specific timeline yet as there's still some personal things I need to take care off first.

Also, it has been brought to my attention that my AWVR 777 was modified and uploaded to the DLS by another user. This is unacceptable and a direct violation of the EULA printed on the download page of this site. Though I have been away for a while, it is no excuse to violate the EULA. I have already made contact with this individual regarding this matter.

Pending Updates

Due to recent changes within the Trainz community, some of the dependencies that are required for my locos have gone missing. I'm currently in the process of hunting down these missing dependencies or replacing them with others.

I'll update the download links or upload new files and will update this post when the corrections have been made.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. I'll try to get everything sorted as soon as possible.

[Edit: 11/24/2011]

New files have been uploaded.

I was unable to locate the old dependencies, so I substituted them with others. I also made some changes to the config files to make them more TS12 friendly.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

USLW, Projects, & Other Stuff

Unfortunately, due to circumstances that I - along with the majority of the Trainz community - don't fully understand, U.S. Locomotive Works (USLW) has been shut down indefinitely. This is a sad loss for the Trainz community and we hope it will return in the near future.

I have added Southern Atlantic Transportation (SAXT) to the links list (FINALLY!!!). SAXT provides quality assets for Trainz and we're fortunate to have these great content creators be a part of the Trainz community.

All Blawnox LW projects are on hold due to real world commitments. Long story short, school and work are taking up most of my free time. I hope to resume some of my pending projects during the holidays. Sorry.

Part 2 of my AWVR project is complete. As I am using RRMods models, I have sent Joram24 (RRMods administrator) all of the files to be hosted at RRmods. Joe is a busy guy, however, so it may be a while before the files are put up for download. Once they are up, I'll post a link in the downloads page.

[Edit: 10/05/2011]

USLW was bought by the folks at JointedRail and is up and running again! Thanks JR for keeping this site up for the community to enjoy!

West Coast Trainz

Frank McCall (SPorBust) has regrettably decided to close down his site, West Coast Trainz. No word yet as to whether the content he had on his site will be hosted somewhere else or not.

The horn sound for the AWVR MP15s was hosted at Frank's site and I'm unable to find it elsewhere. For those of you looking to download these engines, fear not. I've found a substitute horn and have updated the files.

This is a sad loss for the Trainz community and we hope he will be back in the foreseeable future.

[Edit: 09/02/2011]

Frank McCall is back! His new site can be found here!

DLS Downloads

The download page now includes links to the DLS items each engine needs. Don't forget them!

Due to the unique way Auran (N3V) runs things, if you do not have access to the DLS, feel free to substitute whatever you are missing for something else.

AWVR GEs fixed

OK, everyone. I think I finally got rid of the stupid texture errors for the GE units.

Also, I changed a few small things in the config files so that now there's only one version of each engine, rather than two as before (one for 2006, the other for 2009/2010).

If you were having problems with the GEs, you can download them again.

Sorry for the mess, but sometimes Trainz can be a pain...
